We love writing about where to live in Nashville – it’s an easy topic because each area is unique and they all have their own amenities.
Williamson County is home to some of the most popular areas including Franklin and Brentwood. The area is rich in history as it was originally inhabited by at least five prehistoric cultures, including tribes of Cherokees, Chickasaws, Choctaws, Creeks, and Shawnees.
Franklin has become known for its historic downtown. An idyllic main street is vibrant, filled with boutiques, antique shops, and shoppers. The Factory at Franklin is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and includes restaurants, antiques shops, art galleries, one-of-a-kind retail stores, culinary school, theater, working artisans, farmer’s market and much more. For a traditional shopping experience, there’s always CoolSprings Galleria.
Brentwood is known for its suburban feel, famous residents, and is home to several companies’ national headquarters. Comdata, Sigma Pi Fraternity, EMI Christian Music Group, Howard Books and the Tractor Supply Company are among the companies based in Brentwood. Famous residents include athletes, musicians, politicians, and other notable personalities.
Williamson County has an exquisite public school system and three high schools in the school system were ranked in Newsweek magazine’s list of the top 1,000 public schools in the United States.
